What we treat
Is this you?
Shockwave is most effective for stubborn injuries: the kind of pain that's been hanging around for weeks or months and hasn't settled with other treatment. It is also good when time matters, when you need to get back to your sport or away on a trip. Shockwave can speed up healing, alongside your physiotherapy.
Achilles pain that won't heal
Runners 40+ and active adults who can't shake the niggle.
Plantar fasciitis
That sharp heel pain on first steps in the morning. Common for nurses, retail and hospo staff.
Tennis elbow from work
Pain on the outside of the elbow from gripping all day: tradies, gardeners, desk workers.
Trigger points
Tight, painful knots in a muscle that ache and refer pain elsewhere.
Golfer's elbow
Pain on the inside of the elbow from gripping and bending the wrist.
Rotator cuff strain
Persistent shoulder pain limiting your overhead movement and your sleep.
Hamstring tightness
Tightness and recurring tears that aren't fully resolving with stretching.
Shin and heel pain
Stubborn lower-leg and heel pain that has not settled with rest or stretching.
Shoulder and hip bursitis
Often managed with painful injections. Shockwave can settle bursitis with active rehab instead, and less time out.

How it works
What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave uses focused sound waves to wake up your body's own healing response in the injured area. The pulses do four things at once:
- 1 Stimulate new blood vessel growth in the injured area
- 2 Encourage tissue repair at a cellular level
- 3 Reduce inflammation around the injury site
- 4 Mobilise stem cells to aid recovery
Why patients choose it
Fast, non-invasive, and built to get you moving.
- Fast and cost-effective
- Usually 4 to 8 sessions, often under 15 minutes each.
- Non-invasive
- No anaesthesia, no injections, no surgery, no medication.
- Effective
- Most patients feel a difference after the first session, with longer-term healing over the following weeks.
- No referral needed
- Book directly. We'll assess whether shockwave is right for you in the same session.
From our patients
Stuck for months. Better in weeks.
"
I'd had Achilles pain for over a year. Three sessions in and I'm running again. Wish I'd found them sooner.
"
My plantar fasciitis was so bad I couldn't walk to the kitchen in the morning. After four sessions it's gone.
"
Booked thinking it was a long shot. The team are warm, the treatment worked, and the parking on Franklin Road is honestly the easiest in Auckland.
Fees
What it costs
Shockwave is added to a standard physio appointment. The shockwave portion is $70 per session. Pre-pay 4 sessions for $260.
| Appointment type | Physio | Shockwave | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| First ACC Physio (40 min) + Shockwave | $72 | $70 | $142 |
| First Private Physio (40 min) + Shockwave | $129 | $70 | $199 |
A physio consult fee is payable at each session even when you've pre-paid a package, because the package covers the shockwave portion only. Follow-up physio sessions may be 20-40 minutes. Private health insurance often covers under physiotherapy.
